The enactment of recent legislation has marked a significant shift in how physicians may provide telemedicine in Texas. This document describes the new Texas legal and regulatory requirements that apply to a physician providing telemedicine medical services.
Learning Objectives Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to: - Discuss the legal and regulatory requirements for compliantly providing telemedicine services to patients;
- Determine payment options for telemedicine services offered to patients with private and public insurance plans; and
- Examine special considerations when issuing a prescription to patients receiving telemedicine services.
