Actively engaging patients does more than boost loyalty and word-of-mouth referrals; it could actually improve patients’ health outcomes. Patient engagement is a significant portion of the Advancing Care Information (ACI) requirements in the Quality Payment Program (QPP) set forth in the Medicare Access and Chip Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). Emerging technologies such as patient portals, personal health records (PHRs), texting and instant messaging, mobile applications, and online forms allow patients to communicate securely with physicians and their staff in efficient and productive ways.
This course is designed to help physicians understand the importance of using technology to engage patients for better health and improve office efficiencies.
